This AdBlue Bund alarm can be installed to any existing Bunded AdBlue tank. It’s purpose is to detect any leaks into the outer bund area, sounding an alarm when a set height of liquid is reached, preventing loss or over flow out of the bund

Bund Alarm & Leak Detection Alarm

A Bund level alarm triggers when liquid reaches a pre-determined level in the outer bund of a tank. This can mean that there is leak from the inner tank into the outer bund or the bund has began filling with liquid from another source externally. 

Why is a Bund Alarm Important? 

A bund alarm is important to provide an early warning if bund is compromised. There are several safety advantages to a bund alarm:

If a bund was to be compromised and filled partially with rainwater over time, it renders the bund useless incase of a serious incident – as it can no longer safely retain the full contents of the inner tank should it begin to leak or overflow.

If the inner tank was to leak or split, it can over time begin to fill the outer bund; which if not caught in time may lead to the tank bund overflowing – if the inner tank was filled several times since the leak began the capacity can exceed the bunds capabilities. A bund generally has the capacity for 110% of the inner tank. 

If a mistake was to occur during re-filling such over filling or filling into the wrong location – the bund alarm will trigger an audio buzzer and flashing LED alerting the operator, preventing a much larger incident. 

How Does it Work?

The Bund alarm is supplied with a float switch attached to a 5-metre cable. This cable is fed through the mounting plate into the tank and positioned at the level where the alarm should activate. It is then connected to the 90 mm × 90 mm alarm unit. When the AdBlue level reaches the float switch, the system activates an audible alarm along with a flashing LED warning light. The audible alarm can be muted, while the LED continues to flash to indicate the alert condition.

This bund level warning alarm is designed for use with AdBlue and water. The tank probe on this gauge is made from stainless steel, allowing it provide a lifelong resistance to corrosion.
